The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted

Here is what to do if you receive this message: “The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted” when you go to open something that you just downloaded.

Usually it means that there was a problem during your download. This came up because recently I wrote about Abhi Agarwal’s 126 ebook package.

Some people who got the whole package of 126 books had a problem
with the download. It is a BIG file and if your computer is trying
to do a lot of other things at the same time, it may not be able to
cope.

So whenever you download something, especially if you know it’s a big file, it is a good idea to check it right away while you still have the download page open. Try to open the zip folder or extract the files and if you get the message “The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted” you need to download again. Before you start, close everything on your computer except for your browser.

I find that IE works better than Firefox for big downloads – it seems to be easier on my computer’s brain.

  1. sir,in my comp. c folder is corrupted
so please give me some good steps

  2. Oh Konark, do you mean your whole C drive is corrupted? That sounds serious. It’s beyond my powers as a mere internet marketer to help you with that one. If that happened to me, I would probably call a local technician to come and take a look at it physically.
I hope it can be recovered for you.
