List Building: Free Signups To Your List For 6 Months
It’s time to celebrate! This is the best freebie I have ever yet found for my readers – the chance to get new signups to your list for the next SIX MONTHS!
It’s a new internet marketing giveaway run by Mark Sandquist and it has that vital ingredient, a Unique Selling Point. Giveaways are always good for list building but this is NOT going be ‘yet another giveaway’ with the same tired old products you have seen a thousand times before. They will be original and mostly brand new. People are going to love it, and they will keep coming back to download more and more gifts!
Sign up as a JV contributor, submit a good original product and you should find that people are signing up to your list every day from 1 July 2007 to 1 January 2008.
Not sure yet? Read on and you will find some great resources that will help you with creating both your ‘freebie’ and your original graphics. But first, this is what Mark says:
“We are only approving “Truly Original” Products. That means the contributions must be created by the contributor to be approved for inclusion in the members area. There are very simple rules to maintain the spirit and uniqueness of this event:
- Your contribution must be created by you.
- Membership sites that contain resell/private label rights products are OK if the “site” is yours.
- Re-Branded PLR products are OK as long as they have been customized enough by you to be uniquely yours. ie: new graphics, added content, your own links embedded etc.
I guarantee you won’t have ever seen the majority of these products. Submit a product that will have them falling all over each other to sign up to your list. You also make 70% commissions on the OTO’s and back-end offers that we make to your referrals.”
This is being promoted through the JV offers area in MME3 and there are some big names among the almost 2000 members, with some BIG lists. If they join and submit a product, they will promote the giveaway to those huge lists. This could lead to a LOT of people downloading your free product, seeing your upsell and most importantly, signing up to YOUR list.
New products can be added any time until 1st December. But I recommend you get at least one set up and registered before the doors open on 1st July, because there is always a massive surge of interest in these events during the first few days when all of the contributors send an explosion of emails promoting it to their lists at the same time.

James Penn tells you a lot more than you need for one simple giveaway here, there are some great ideas for identifying niches and marketing short reports effectively, but the section on product creation will definitely help you start and more importantly FINISH creating the product for this giveaway.
Remember that your giveaway product does not have to be IM related. Niche products are great too, especially if you offer private label rights or at least do not make it too heavily ‘branded’. If I write a product on dog training, IMers will download it to give away on their dog-related niche websites as an incentive for dog lovers to sign up to their doggy list. If it has one little link to my website at the end, that’s okay. But if it’s stuffed with my links in every paragraph, they will probably not put it on their site at all, so nobody will even see my links.
When you have your first short report completed and submitted for this giveaway, you can start creating niche products to sell, marketing them in all the ways that James suggests, for that ‘insane passive income’.
There is everything you need here to create, promote and sell short reports to an unlimited number of hungry markets. Don’t stop at one. Make the most of the advice here and it will bring you huge benefits.
GRAPHICS
There is no reason to let graphics hold you back either, even if you have never created an ebook cover before. $97 professional graphics might help but they are not necessary for a giveaway product, you just need something clear and original. Here is a very simple example where I took a stock photo and added some text to it:
You may have ebook cover creator software on your hard drive. If you do, now is the time to use it! If not, try this:
1. Find any report cover jpeg image. You will have these on your hard drive included with products that you have PLR rights to.
2. In your graphics program, paint out all the design on the cover, so that it is the same colour as the background of your graphic.
3. Create a flat rectangular graphic that is approximately the right size, using whatever picture and text you want.
4. Copy your graphic on top of the blank report cover image and using the ‘move’ and ’skew’ tools in your graphics program, move the *corners* of your graphic so that it distorts to fit the shape of the blank ebook cover exactly.
The results will depend on your graphics program and your design. The tools may have different names (I use Photoshop Elements). You may need to smooth the edges and play around a little, and often you can get a very good result.
