Adsense Privacy Policy: What To Write
If you run Adsense on any of your sites, you probably received an
email from Google last week explaining about their new interest
based advertising and the need for privacy policies on your sites
to include reference to their Dart cookie.
We have until April 8th to implement this on all Adsense sites or
face Google’s wrath
If you didn’t receive Google’s email, check the email address that
is associated with your Adsense account or go here:

So what do you actually include in your privacy policy?
I was sent a link to a good free privacy policy creator that you
may find useful: http://www.freeprivacypolicy.com/
I used it for my sites and I loved it. You can edit your policy after it has been created. They give you the HTML. So you can copy and paste for other sites, easily change contact information, delete irrelevant paragraphs etc.
They have not yet updated it to include wording about the Dart cookie so you will need to add a paragraph in the additional information section. I headed mine ‘Interest based advertising’ and then just gave the information about the Dart cookie that Google says we must include.
This is what I wrote for the extra paragraph (but you must do your own due diligence for your own sites):
Interest Based Advertising
This site may carry interest based advertising for which Google or other third party vendors use cookies to serve advertisements on this site. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our visitors based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of the use of the DART cookie at any time by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html
